Troy Volleyball Inks Three Newcomers on Signing Day

TROY, Ala. – Troy head coach Josh Lauer announced three players who signed with the Trojans in this week's signing period to round out Lauer's seventh recruiting class here at Troy. Emma Blaine, Addison Kersting, and Audrey Worthington have all signed their commitment to join the Troy volleyball program for the 2023 season.
Emma Blaine
6'0 | Right-side Hitter
O'Fallon, Mo.
Howell Central High School | St. Louis High-Performance Volleyball Club
Blaine comes to Troy as a dominant defensive player throughout high school. She currently ranks second at Howell Central High School for blocks in a single season with 119 and is in fourth place for career blocks.
"Emma is an extremely driven person and athlete," Lauer said. "She is constantly striving to be her best on and off the court. Emma is an excellent blocker, explosive offensively, and will be a great addition to our pin-attacking position group. Like her 2023 classmates, she is high character, an amazing teammate, and has a fantastic work ethic."
Addison Kersting
5'11 | Setter
Saint Charles, Mo.
Saint Charles High School | St. Louis High-Performance Volleyball Club
Kersting joins the Trojans from Saint Charles, Mo., were at Saint Charles High School has totaled 1150 career assists, 548 digs, and 440 kills. A national honor society student, Kersting has won player of the week 13 times, received district honors three times, and all-state honors twice. In addition, she has appeared on the AVCA phenom list three times while being named to the AVCA All-American watch list her senior year. In her senior year, she was the conference player of the year. In addition, she was named to the first-team all-district and all-conference teams and made the AVCA all-region team.
"Addison is a terrific setter and has been a leader on both her high school and club teams," Lauer said. "She is dedicated and hard-working both on and off the court, and we are excited to add her competitiveness and volleyball IQ to our team. She will bring out the best in her teammates daily and thrive academically at Troy."
Audrey Worthington
6'1 | Middle Hitter
Blacklick, Ohio.
Gahanna Lincoln High School | Rouge Volleyball
Worthington saw first-team all-conference and first-team all-district throughout her high school career. In addition, she is the conference leader in hitting percentage and blocks. A National Technical Honor Society student, Worthington was also a conference champion in 2019 and 2021. She was awarded player of the game three times and was an Ohio Honorable mention out of the Ohio Capital Conference.
"Audrey is a physical, athletic middle attacker who is competitive and brings tremendous joy onto the court when she plays,' Lauer said. "Audrey is also a great connector of people. Her passion and chemistry with her high school and club teammates was a big reason we knew she would be a great addition to our Troy volleyball family."
