Troy Football Need to Know; Gameday at The Vet; Army Game

Football is back at The Vet on Saturday when Troy hosts Army; kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. between the Trojans and Black Knights.  Troy Athletics is excited to announce new items that will take place surrounding gameday this season at The Vet and reminders of some returning items that will help make your gameday experience the best it can be.  Visit TroyTrojans.com/Gameday prior to each visit to campus to see the complete information on parking, traffic flow, shuttles and tickets for each of Troy's home games. Ticket Sales / Will Call / Gate Information Tickets are sold on gameday at the following locations: Main Ticket Office (Tine Davis Fieldhouse) - 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Gate One - 10 a.m. until halftime  Will call will now be located at Gate One due to construction at Riddle-Pace Field; will call opens at 10 a.m.  All gates open 90 minutes prior to kickoff, while the Stadium Club and Suites open two hours prior to kickoff.    Military Tickets Fans may help purchase tickets that will be donated to be used by local military bases and veterans. These tickets are $15 each, and every ticket purchased will be matched by Troy Athletics. Tickets to be donated to members of the military may be purchased by visiting TroyTrojans.com/MilitaryTickets or by calling the Troy Ticket Office at (334) 670-3681. Additionally, veterans may request tickets to the game by visiting VetTix.org.  Student Guest Tickets Troy University students can purchase $1 guest tickets for Saturday's game. Sales run until 5 p.m. on Friday through the Troy Ticket Office.  Patriotic GiveawaysÂ
The first 25,000 fans will receive a Patriotic Power T sticker to show their Trojan Pride and support for our nation's military. Additionally, those that participate in the Walk of Heroes during halftime honoring all military members will receive a Patriotic Power T lapel pin.Â

Student Giveaways
There will be 4,000 rally towels provided in the student section courtesy of Premier Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Troy Athletics. Students in the student section during the fourth quarter of the game will also be treated to free pizza courtesy of Domino's Pizza in Troy.

Military Appreciation
Several individuals will be sworn into the different military branches in a special ceremony before the game. In addition, fans on campus before the game will also be able to interact with static displays of military vehicles provided by Fort Rucker located between the Troy Soccer Complex and Trojan Arena. These military vehicles will include helicopters and other items for fans of all ages to experience and take photos of.Â

Pregame Flyover & Giant Flag
Highlights for the game include a pregame flyover featuring an Apache helicopter, two Blackhawk helicopters and a Chinook helicopter from Fort Rucker. The flyover will occur in conjunction with the National Anthem performed by the Sound of the South. Additionally, an American Flag that stretches the length of the football field will be on display during the National Anthem. Cadets from Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base will assist with handling the giant American Flag for this presentation.Â

March of Heroes
During halftime of the game, all veterans and active duty members are invited to participate in the annual March of Heroes. Fireworks will accompany this celebration as the Sound of the South performs each branch's song.

Parking All on-campus parking is reserved for members of the Trojan Warrior Club. Lots are assigned based on the level of annual philanthropic donations to the Trojan Warrior Club. To find out more about parking, please contact Gary Wilbert (gwilbert@troy.edu) or Walker Sandlin (bsandlin@troy.edu).  For the first time, single-game parking is available for purchase in Lot 5 for $30 per game by visiting TroyTrojans.com/FBTickets. Lot 2 and Handicap parking are located in the Troy University Rec Center Parking Lot. These lots may be access via John M. Long Drive from George Wallace Drive or Park Street. Please note that Lot 2 parking passes must displayed for access to the lot. Fans needing access to the handicap lot must have a valid state-issued handicap tag.  Lots 1, 3, 4 and 5 may be accessed at the roundabout located by the lagoon. Fans may access this by taking George Wallace Drive and turning onto International Blvd across the street from Charles Henderson High School. Fans may also access this location by turning off Elm Street onto Veterans Memorial Drive across from the Sorority Houses.   Traffic Information George Wallace Drive will CLOSE two (2) hours prior to kickoff until one (1) hour after the completion of the game from International Blvd. (traffic light at Charles Henderson High School) to Johnny Long Drive. Fans with access to National Guard Armory Lot and North End Zone Lot will be granted access to those lots within the two-hour closure with the proper parking pass. ALL traffic to those lots MUST enter from the north end of George Wallace Drive – from Downtown/Elm Street, not Highway 231.
 Honorary Wreath Laying Troy for Troops will lay a wreath in the South End Zone prior to the game in memory of United States service members who have lost their lives in duty to their country.

Guardian Credit Union Fan Zone Located outside The Vet in the South end of the stadium and behind the outfield wall, the Guardian Credit Union Fan Zone (Tailgate Terrace) is the central hub for fans on gamedays.  Troy Athletics Kids Zone The Troy Kids Zone opens at 10:30 a.m. in the Riddle-Pace Field outfield. Children of all ages are invited to take part in the fun with free inflatables until 1:30 p.m.  A pair of Troy branded inflatables return to the Kids Zone for the kids to play on with a Troy bounce house and a Troy football/soccer interactive game.  Food Trucks Food trucks return to The Vet for the home opener and will be located along University Avenue beginning at 10:30 a.m. around Tailgate Terrace. Fans will be able to sample from various food trucks.   Horn Beverage Tailgate Terrace Concert Series Troy's popular Horn Beverage Tailgate Concert Series returns for the 2022 season with an exciting lineup for each of the Trojans' six home games at The Vet. The free concerts will take place each week in Tailgate Terrace three hours before kickoff, with POPulus taking the stage this Saturday. POPulus will also have a special three song tribute to our nation's military immediately following Trojan Walk as part of their pregame performance.  POPulus is Troy University's popular music ensemble comprised of students in the Music Industry Program. Artists of diverse and eclectic styles blend with a concert production team in a unique musical environment honoring all genres of American popular music. The term POPulus was created by combining the musical genre "POP" with "ulus," a Mediterranean languages term for "Nation" or "People." With their dynamic vibe and distinctive name, their music appeals across genres, generations and geographic borders.  POPulus not only plays covers from well-known artists, but they also play original songs written by students from Troy University's Music Industry Program. Their music is available online at iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby and multiple streaming sites around the globe.  Concessions In addition to the standard concession items, Sodexo will offer specialty items at different locations throughout The Vet – Funnel Cakes, Dippin' Dots, Chick-fil-A, Domino's Pizza, Snobiz Snow Cones, Melia's Cupcakes, Conecuh Dogs & Two Brothers Ice Cream.  Additionally, Sodexo will offer a specialty item of the game at Stand 6 on the East Concourse and Stand 2 on East Concourse … this week's item will be thick and zesty chili.   Trojan Walk Troy's traditional pre-game march into Veterans Memorial Stadium, Trojan Walk sponsored by Harley Davidson of Dothan, will begin at the intersection of University Avenue and George Wallace Drive. The Trojans will walk through the brick portal into Tailgate Terrace before entering the stadium at Gate 1. Trojan Walk will begin at 12:15 p.m. The Troy buses will be led to Trojan Walk by a Troy branded Harley Davidson motorcycle. Water Monsters Two Water Monsters, sponsored by Stone Cold Heating & Air, featuring 150-gallon tanks of cold filtered water will be located on the South Concourse to assist fans in staying cool and hydrated. Fans are permitted to bring empty, non-glass, bottles/cups inside to fill up at the various water stations and/or one (1) sealed bottle of water or empty plastic drink container that does not exceed 20oz to be used at these locations.  Misting Fans Misting fans, sponsored by Stone Cold Heating & Air, will be strategically located throughout the concourses of The Vet on gameday to provide cooling stations for guests looking to beat the heat. Each of the two main concourses (East & West) will feature two of the fans.  Beer Garden Sponsored by Horn Beverage, Troy fans who are of age can enjoy a beer garden in Tailgate Terrace from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. All drinks purchased in the beer garden must remain in the marked area and all guests must be at least 21 years old to enter.  Troy Sports Radio Network Pregame Show The Troy Sports Radio Crew, led by "Voice of the Trojans" Barry McKnight, will be on location in Tailgate Terrace behind the Riddle-Pace Field batter's eye for the radio pregame show  sponsored by Harley Davidson of Dothan beginning at 12:30 p.m. to preview the game on the full Troy Sports Radio Network.  Mobile Ticketing Beginning in 2022, mobile ticketing and parking will be an option for fans to use on gameday.  Ticket purchasers can manage their tickets on their smartphones by visiting TroyTrojans.com/tickets and logging into their account. It is strongly encouraged that all fans download their tickets before game day.
