TROY, Ala. – Troy will appear on NFL Network for the second time this season as the Trojans' game against Army on Nov. 12 has been selected for broadcast; kickoff time remains the same at 2:30 p.m. from The Vet.
The matchup with the Black Knights is the first between the two institutions and will be a historic day at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Troy's Sun Belt home opener against Marshall in September was also featured on NFL Network; it was the first victory in Troy's current five-game winning streak.
Highlights for the Army game include a pregame flyover featuring four helicopters from Fort Rucker. The flyover will occur in conjunction with the National Anthem performed by the Sound of the South. Additionally, an American Flag that stretches the length of the football field will be on display during the National Anthem. Cadets from Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base will assist with handling the giant American Flag for this presentation.
Upon entry, all fans in attendance will receive a Patriotic Power T sticker to show their Trojan Pride and support for our nation's military. Additionally, there will be 4,000 rally towels provided in the student section courtesy of Premier Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Troy Athletics. Troy University students will also have the opportunity to win several prizes throughout the game.
As previously announced, fans may help purchase tickets that will be donated to be used by local military bases and veterans. These tickets are $15 each, and every ticket purchased will be matched by Troy Athletics. Tickets to be donated to members of the military may be purchased by visiting TroyTrojans.com/MilitaryTickets or by calling the Troy Ticket Office at (334) 670-3681. Additionally, veterans may request tickets to the game by visiting VetTix.org.
Several individuals will be sworn into the different military branches in a special ceremony before the game. In addition, fans on campus before the game will also be able to interact with static displays of military vehicles provided by Fort Rucker. These military vehicles will include helicopters and other items for fans of all ages to experience and take photos with.
During halftime of the game, all veterans and active duty members are invited to participate in the annual March of Heroes. Fireworks will accompany this celebration as the Sound of the South performs each branch's song. Throughout the game, there will also be several presentations honoring the men and women of our nation's military, including the annual laying of the wreath by the entrance of Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Tickets for the game are available for purchase and start at $15 for general admission tickets. Tickets may be purchased by contacting the Troy Ticket Office at (334) 670-3681 or visiting TroyTrojans.com/Tickets.
