Troy Football Letterwinners Day Set for Oct. 9

TROY, Ala. – Troy Football will host its annual Letterwinners Day on Saturday, Oct. 9, surrounding Troy's home football game against Georgia Southern at The Vet. All past football letterwinners are welcomed back for this event and there will be special recognitions for "Billy's Boys" and the FBS era letterwinners.

Returning letterwinners can receive up to four complimentary tickets to the game and are invited to an exclusive pregame tailgate in Tailgate Terrace. Additionally, returning letterwinners will lead the team into the stadium during Trojan Walk and be recognized on the field during the game.

"Billy's Boys" are comprised of players from the 1966-71 teams who played for legendary head coach Billy Atkins. This year marks the 50^th anniversary of Atkins' final season at Troy. Atkins led the Trojans to the 1968 NAIA national championship and the then-Red Wave to three Alabama Collegiate Conference championships (1967-68-69).

Troy will also have a special recognition for all former letterwinners who played during the Trojans' FBS era. The 2021 season marks the 20^th anniversary of Troy's move to the highest level of collegiate football.
