TROY, Ala. – Troy Director of Athletics Brent Jones announced Friday the addition of Ryan Kay to the Troy Athletics staff as the Trojans' Assistant Athletics Director for Ticketing.
Â
"Ryan was the perfect fit for this position due to his background in ticket operations, ticket sales, premium sales, database marketing, ticketing technology and providing our fans the best level of customer service," Jones said. "He is a two-time graduate of Troy and a former Troy student-athlete, who has had success at several places, including working at Troy prior to Georgia Southern and in the professional ticketing ranks. He is extremely familiar with our fan base, and we're excited to welcome him, Sierra and Cohen back home."
Â
Kay returns to Troy following a one-year run at Georgia Southern, where he served as the Eagles' Director of Ticket Sales. He oversaw the sales and operations for all seven of Georgia Southern's ticketed sports in addition to engaging fans and donors. Georgia Southern saw an 80 percent increase in baseball season tickets under Kay's watch.
Â
A record-setting kicker and punter for the Troy football team (2012-16), Kay was the senior account executive for Troy's Learfield IMG College office for 18 months. He generated more than $1.1 million in revenue during the 2019 season, helped increase basketball season ticket sales by 133 percent and played a key role in selling Troy's premium areas at football, basketball and baseball.
Â
Prior to his first stint at Troy, Kay spent one year as an account executive at the Texas Motor Speedway, where he generated more than 40 percent of the overall revenue in 2018 among a group of nine sales representatives.
He and his wife Sierra have one son, Cohen.Â
