OneTROY Weekend Kicks Off Troy Athletics Season

TROY, Ala. – Troy Athletics is kicking off the 2021-22 athletic season in style with a weekend-long celebration August 20-22 with OneTROY Weekend presented by Conecuh Sausage, which encompasses a football scrimmage in addition to volleyball and soccer competition.

"Our student-athletes start arriving back on campus next week, and we can't wait to welcome Trojan Nation back to campus for OneTROY Weekend," Director of Athletics Brent Jones said. "Our student-athletes, coaches and staff have been working tirelessly this summer in preparation for the upcoming season, and OneTROY Weekend will be a tremendous way to celebrate with Trojans One & All."

Conecuh Sausage, the official sausage of Troy Athletics, will supply sausage dogs to the first 500 fans in attendance for Troy's football scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 21, at The Vet. The action gets underway at 10 a.m. on the field, and the free food and beverages will be served at approximately 11 a.m.

Additionally, the South End Zone Plaza will serve as a Kids Fun Zone throughout the scrimmage with inflatables and tailgate games.

Following the scrimmage, fans can make their way to Trojan Arena as the Troy volleyball team hosts Kennesaw State in an exhibition match beginning at 1 p.m. Admission to all Troy volleyball matches are free, and the first 200 fans in attendance will receive a free Conecuh Dog. Fans will also be able to take home a free volleyball schedule poster.

The Troy soccer team holds the bookend positions for OneTROY Weekend with their season-opening matches. The Trojans host Nicholls State on Friday at 7 p.m. and then close out the weekend against Alabama A&M on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Admission to all Troy soccer matches is free, and fans will be able to snag a free schedule poster at Friday night's match.Â
