TROY, Ala. – Coach Mark Smartt and the Troy baseball program have announced their 2021 summer camp dates at Riddle-Pace Field. The camps will adhere to a number of safety guidelines in order to maintain the safest possible playing environment.
Three summer showcases for high schoolers grades 9-12 will be held this summer on June 5, July 10 and August 8. A high school skills camp for those in grades 10-12 will be available June 23-25.
For middle schoolers in grades 7-9, a skills camp will be available June 21-23. A youth camp for players grades K-6 will be held July 19-22.
All grades are as of fall 2021. Visit troybaseballcamps.com for pricing options, more information and registration.
"Our staff is excited about our summer camp schedule and renewing recruiting opportunities that have been removed throughout the pandemic," head coach Mark Smartt said. "I am also excited for the current group of prospective student athletes that have the opportunity to visit our campus and play inside our facility. We have signed many players through the years from our summer camp format and I am certain that will continue in the future."
Smartt Baseball Camps will take the following steps to ensure the health and safety of all campers:
• There will be a limit of 50 campers for each session in order to maintain proper distancing during the camp.
• All staff & campers will have their temperature checked each morning prior to camp. Anyone with a fever of 100.4 degrees or more will not be allowed to participate.
• Staff will be in masks during the check in and check out process.
• Campers may wear masks but will NOT be required.
• Campers are encouraged to bring their own bat and helmet to avoid sharing of the same equipment.
• Hand sanitizer will be available at Riddle-Pace Field.
• Campers should bring their own water bottle properly labeled with their name. Camp staff will be available to refill bottles.
• Campers will be encouraged to avoid contact with other campers (high fives, horseplay, etc.) and to sneeze or cough into their elbow.
• Areas frequented by campers will be properly cleaned between camp sessions.
• Only staff and campers will be allowed in the dugouts and on the playing surface of Riddle-Pace Field. Parents should maintain social distancing in the bleacher areas. In the event of an emergency, Camp Staff will be available to escort parents/guardians to the appropriate location.
