TROY, Ala. – Troy wraps its third spring practice under head coach Chip Lindsey with its annual T-Day Spring Game presented by the Vance Law Firm on Saturday at The Vet. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. with free admission for all fans wishing to attend the game.

T-Day Radio Broadcast:Â The Troy Sports Radio Network crew will be on hand at The Vet on Saturday to bring fans all of the action of T-Day. Doug Amos and Junior Louissaint will be in the booth providing the play-by-play, while Chris Blackshear will be on the sidelines with live interviews with Troy players, coaches and special guests throughout the broadcast.

The game will be carried locally on 94.7 FM in Troy and will be streamed online for free at TroyTrojans.com.

Sim Byrd Celebration of Life:Â Â Troy Athletics will hold a celebration of life ceremony for Troy University Sports Hall of Fame quarterback Sim Byrd in Trojan Arena on Saturday at 9 a.m. Byrd passed away on Nov. 18, 2020, at the age of 75.
One of Troy's first modern day All-Americans, Byrd led the then Red Wave to the 1968 NAIA National Championship behind passing numbers that were way ahead of his time. In Troy's semifinal and championship game victories, Byrd combined for 12 touchdowns (11 through the air), and he finished the season with 41 touchdown passes and 3,569 passing yards. As a comparison, the NCAA's Division I leader for the year finished with 25 touchdown passes.

Fans are encouraged to join Byrd's family and friends, Troy University administrators, Troy Athletics staff, and the entire Troy football team and coaching staff for the celebration of life ceremony. Attendees are asked to wear their favorite Troy gameday attire to celebrate one of the greatest to play the game at Troy.Â

ScreenTech BOGO:Â Fans can load up on their favorite Trojan gear at T-Day as ScreenTech will be holding a buy one, get one free sale during the game. ScreenTech will be set up on the West concourse.

Select a Seat:Â Fans still looking to purchase season tickets for the 2021 season, which features home games against South Alabama, App State, Louisiana, Liberty, Southern and Georgia Southern, will be able to scout out the perfect seat and secure it for the upcoming season. Fans who purchase or renew their season tickets at T-Day will qualify for an exclusive Troy Football mini helmet.

Sound of the South:Â The award-winning Sound of the South Marching Band will be on hand, along with members of the Sound of the South Alumni Band, to entertain fans throughout Saturday's game.

Text to Win: Fans will have opportunities throughout the game to win great Troy Athletics prizes with text to win contests … information will be shown on the videoboards throughout the game on how to enter.

Busy Weekend:Â T-Day is just one of many events taking place on campus this weekend with the baseball and softball teams both hosting Sun Belt Conference series. Softball, off to its best start since 1995 with a 26-6 record, hosts No. 14 Louisiana on Sunday and Monday; the teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday and a single-game Monday at 1 p.m. The baseball team hosts preseason Sun Belt favorite Texas State in a three-game set at Riddle-Pace Field (Friday, 6 p.m.; Saturday, 4 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.).
