Women’s Golf Heads to Brickyard Collegiate

TROY, Ala. – Following a three-week hiatus, the Troy women's golf team hits the road for the Brickyard Collegiate hosted by Mercer at the 6,218-yard Brickyard Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.
Troy is coming off a fifth-place finish its last time out behind a 2-over, fourth-place performance from ShaeLee Scarberry, which included a round of 2-under 69. Scarberry is second on the Trojans' squad with a 3.61 score vs. par, three rounds under par and a 75.35 stroke average on the year.
Nicole Lorup enters the week ranked seventh in the Sun Belt Conference with a 2.09 score vs. par over her eight tournaments. That, along with her five rounds under par and 73.83 stroke average all lead the Trojans.
Freshman Elisabeth Preus is tied with Lorup for first on the team with 95.7 percent (22-of-23) of her individual rounds counting towards the team card. She carries a 3.96 score vs. par into the Brickyard Collegiate, while Anna Claire Little is right behind with a 4.80 score vs. par and 88.2 percent of her rounds counting on the team card.
Elizabeth Caldarelli will make her second straight appearance in the lineup and Judith Castro will compete as an individual.
The event is Troy's last before the Sun Belt Conference Championship which is set for April 18-19 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
