Trojans Fall in Three Sets at Florida State

Tallahassee, Fla. – Troy fell in three sets against Florida State Friday night inside Tully Gym in Tallahassee, Fla. Troy battled early in the first set, but ultimately fell to the Seminoles, 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-18).
"It was good to be back on the court," head coach Josh Lauer said. "Florida State is very physical and we need matches like tonight to truly grow as a team. We will use what we learned tonight against a good Florida State team to help us build the rest of this spring and into next fall."
Julia Brooks led the way offensively for the Trojans with six kills while Cheyenne Hayes posted five kills. Hayes also tallied an ace and seven digs in her outing.
Amara Anderson registered 21 assists, four digs and three blocks for the Trojans. Anderson added three kills on .333 hitting to her night. Lacey Jeffcoat was the lone Trojan to record double-digit digs with 10 in the match.
Troy recorded five service aces, two of which came from Freshman Tori Hester. Hayes, Alison Siersma and Natalie Hummel each recorded one.
Morgan Chacon led the way for the Seminoles with nine kills on .500 hitting while Lilly Tessier had 25 assists and four kills on .667 hitting.

Troy returns to action Saturday morning at 10 a.m. against Louisiana.
