Troy Great Bear Woods on CFL All-Decade Ballot

TROY, Ala. – All-time Troy great Bear Woods is one of 20 linebackers on the official ballot for the Canadian Football League (CFL) All-Decade Team. Woods, a two-time All-Sun Belt selection for the Trojans, just completed his ninth season in the CFL -- he spent his first six seasons in Montreal and the last three years in Toronto.
A two-time CFL All-Star, Woods has accumulated 377 tackles in his career north of the border, and his 5.89 tackles per game are the second most among the 20 players nominated for the CFL All-Decade Team.
Woods helped lead the Toronto Argonauts to the 2017 Grey Cup title and twice earned the James P. McCaffrey Trophy, which is awarded annually to the top defensive player in the CFL East Division. His 2014 award came after he ranked second in the league with 89 tackles in addition to adding seven sacks.
At Troy, Woods played on four Sun Belt Conference championship teams and was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team as a junior before earning first team honors as a senior.
