TROY, Alabama – Troy student-athletes were well represented at Troy University's Spring/Summer Commencement Exercises held Friday in Trojan Arena; 55 Troy student-athletes from 11 different programs had their degrees conferred.
Â
Three separate ceremonies were held throughout the day due to COVID-19 restrictions, and graduates who finished their degree work during the spring semester also took part in Friday's festivities.Â
Â
Troy's 55 student-athletes joined some 770 total students who received degrees on Friday; that total included 398 undergraduates, 360 graduate students and eight education specialists students. In addition, four received their Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
Â
Morgan Long, a participating graduate who completed a Bachelor of Science in hospitality, sport and tourism management in May 2020, delivered the commencement address at all three ceremonies. Long, who was elected Troy's SGA president in April 2019, served in a number of leadership roles throughout his career at the University, including overseeing the Trojan Ambassadors as president of the Trojan Ambassador Association, and serving as a Senator and Vice-President of the SGA. As SGA President, he served as an ex-officio member of the Troy University Board of Trustees.
