Troy Baseball Adds Nic Nolan to 2020 Signing Class

TROY, Ala. – Troy baseball added its first spring signee to its 2020 class with the addition of infielder Nic Nolan from Northwest Florida State, head coach Mark Smartt announced Thursday. Nolan will enroll in August 2020 and begin his playing career during the 2021 baseball season, his junior season of eligibility.
Nolan began his collegiate career at Florida Gulf Coast where he made eight appearances before transferring to Northwest Florida State.
The Niceville, Fla., native averaged .296 at the plate and scored 19 runs in 22 games as a sophomore for the Raiders. Nolan posted 24 hits with six doubles and batted in 11 runs during the shortened 2020 season.
Out of high school, Nolan was listed as a top 125 player and the 27th-best shortstop in the state of Florida according to Perfect Game. Nolan attended Niceville High School, the same high school as current Troy shortstop Drew Frederic.
