Troy Falls to Ranked Clemson

TROY, Ala. –Troy women's tennis returned to action on Sunday to take on the number 47 team in the nation of Clemson Tigers. In the match, the Trojans fought hard but were eventually defeated by a score of 7-0, while seeing strong performances from Shevita Aulana in singles.Â

Doubles
• In the number three doubles, Chunxi Guo and Andrea Widing faced Ali DeSpain and Laura Marti of Clemson, where the Tigers won the match 6-1.Â
• The second match in doubles play that concluded came from the number two doubles where Troy placed Matea Mihaljevic and Shevita Aulana against Clemson's Middlebrooks and Louka. The Trojans were overcome by a score of 6-3, thus giving Clemson the doubles point for the entire match.Â
• In the number one doubles, Troy's Anastasiia Khokhlova and Khrustaleva faced Tate Schroeder and Sydney Riley, but the match was ended at 5-5 due in part to Clemson already having clinced the match doubles point.Â

• In number four singles, Andrea Widing faced off against Sydney Riley, which saw Riley taking the match 6-0, 6-1 to give Clemson a 2-0 lead.
•The second singles match that concluded on the afternoon Anastasiia Khokhlova take on M. Middlebrooks in number two singles. Middlebrooks took the match 6-4, 6-1 giving Clemson a 3-0 lead.
• The third match that concluded on the afternoon came from number three singles, where Chunxi Guo fell to Eleni Louka by a score 6-1, 6-4 to give Clemson the 4-0 lead and clinch the match for the Tigers.
• The fourth match that concluded came from number four singles which saw Anastasiia Khrustaleva lose to Laura Marti 6-3, 6-2 to give Clemson a 5-0 lead on the afternoon.
 • In number five singles, Shevita Aulana faced off against Lana Sipek in the most entertaining match of the afternoon as Sipek fought her way to a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) victory. This gave Clemson the 6-0 lead on the night.Â
• In number one singles, Matea Mihaljevic fell to #70 Tate Schroeder by a 6-4, 5-7, 10-4. This made the final score in favor of the Tigers 7-0.Â
