Men's Tennis earns victory at Jackson State Friday

JACKSON, Miss. – The Troy men's tennis team extended its winning streak to six matches after earning a 4-1 victory at Jackson State Friday afternoon. The win improves Troy's record to 11-4 on the season and 4-3 in road matches.
After winning the doubles point in all three matches last weekend the Trojans were unable to come away with the point on Friday. After dropping No. 1 singles, Pelayo Antuna and Carles Anton earned a 6-3 victory on court two, their 14th doubles win of the season, before Jackson State took the point with a win on court three.
In singles play Troy got off to a fast start with a dominating performance from Anton who earned a straight sets victory on court three. Anton remains undefeated with an 8-0 record on court three this season. Oskar Michalek followed Anton with another quick victory for Troy on court two before Manuel Bernard earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory on court four. The Trojans clinched the match on court five with Javier Llinares clinched his second match in as many weeks with a hard fought 7-5, 6-2 victory.
