Anderson Earns Back-to-Back League Honors

TROY, Ala. – Amara Anderson has been named the Sun Belt Setter of the Week for the second week in a row, the league office announced Monday. This marks the second time in Anderson's career she has received the honor in back-to-back weeks and the fourth time a Trojan has done so in school history.
The sophomore was key in Troy's perfect 3-0 weekend at the Troy invitational, garnering all-tournament honors for the second week in a row.
"We had another very good weekend offensively," head coach Josh Lauer said. "Amara continues to develop and lead our offense in a very positive direction. She continues to prove that she is one of the, if not the, best setters in the conference."
Anderson leads the conference in assists (231) and assists per set (11.55). Last weekend at the Troy Invitational, Anderson registered 103 assists in nine sets of action. She also recorded two service aces in each of the final two matches of the weekend.
Troy returns to action Friday against St. Louis Friday at 6 p.m. in St. Louis.
