TROY, Ala. – The Trojans completed a perfect weekend at the Troy Invitational with 3-0 wins over Murray State and Jacksonville. This marks the first time since 2014 Troy has started the season 5-1.
It was a true team effort as several key players stepped up throughout the Trojans' perfect weekend. In Troy's win over Murray State – which has qualified for the NCAA Tournament three of the last five seasons – the Trojans registered five services aces.
Cheyenne Hayes, Amara Anderson and Lacey Jeffcoat were Troy's three selections to the all-tournament team.
"We had a long weekend, but these are the moments that prepare us for later in the season," head coach Josh Lauer said. "I thought our players did a great job responding in pressure situations."

Troy scored seven of the last eight points in the set to solidify the opening set victory. Hayes led the way with six kills while Jeffcoat kept the defense in check with 10 digs.
