Academic Honor Roll | Commissioner's List
Â
NEW ORLEANS – Troy Athletics had 184 student-athletes, across 16 sports, honored by the Sun Belt Conference on Thursday for their academic excellence in the classroom.
"Our number one priority for our student-athletes when they first step on campus is for them to earn their degree," Director of Athletics Brent Jones said. "It takes a great deal of personal dedication and work ethic to be successful both academically and athletically, and that is exactly what these 184 student-athletes demonstrated last year. We are immensely proud of their hard work and how they represent Troy University."
Â
The Commissioner's List honors student-athletes who maintained a 3.5 grade point average or better during the 2018-19 academic year and the Academic Honor Roll honors those student-athletes who maintained a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 for the academic year.
Â
Troy had 101 student-athletes who were named to the Academic Honor Roll, the second most honorees among the 14 schools that compete in at least one sport sponsored by the Sun Belt. Troy landed 83 student-athletes on this year's Commissioner's List, the sixth most honorees. The 184-total student-athletes honored by the Sun Belt is the fourth most in the conference.
Â
Trojan volleyball had the most honorees on the Commissioner's List for their sport with 11, while softball had the highest team grade point average of all softball programs with its 3.54 GPA.
