TROY, Ala.– Troy opens Sun Belt Conference play on Saturday at The Vet against Arkansas State and the day is packed with different promotions and activities for fans of all ages. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m., and fans are encouraged to be in their seats early for some special pregame festivities.
Fans can visit TroyTrojans.com/Gameday prior to each visit to campus to see the latest information on parking, traffic flow and tickets for each of Troy's home games.
Trojan Talk
Troy's weekly radio show with head football coach Chip Lindsey and "Voice of the Trojans" Barry McKnight airs live Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. on the Troy Sports Radio Network. Fans in Troy can catch the show live at Santa Fe Cattle Company and enjoy half-priced appetizers and drink specials.
Student Guest Tickets
Troy University students can purchase two guest tickets for Saturday's game for just $10 each. Tickets must be purchased by 5 p.m. on Friday at the ticket office located in Tine Davis Fieldhouse or by calling 334-670-3681. You must have your student ID to purchase.
Military Appreciation Tickets
As a way to say thank you to our Armed Forces, Troy Athletics will be providing free admission to all active duty, retired and reserve members of the military with a valid military ID. Those wishing to take advantage of this offer are encouraged to do so in advance to avoid lines on Saturday. Military tickets will be available on gameday at the Riddle-Pace Field (Baseball) ticket office.
Pregame Flyover
In conjunction with Military Appreciation Day, four T-6 Texans will perform a flyover of The Vet during the National Anthem. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 4:40 p.m. to catch all of the pregame festivities.
Military Appreciation Board
A special board will be located by the Trojan statue in the South plaza of The Vet for Saturday's game. Fans are asked to write messages of support to members of our military on this board throughout the game.
Walk of Heroes
Troy's annual Walk of Heroes will take place at halftime in conjunction with the Sound of the South performance. All active, retired and reserve members of the military will be invited onto the field to walk with their respective branch.
Military Displays
Several military vehicles and displays will be located in Tailgate Terrace and inside The Vet for fans to enjoy on Saturday.
30thAnniversary Celebration for Chancellor Hawkins
Troy University is celebrating the 30 years of service from Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., as Troy's Chancellor. Troy Athletics will honor Dr. Hawkins on Saturday with a special helmet decal and with an in-game presentation.
Prior to the game, the University will dedicate a new clock in Dr. Hawkins' honor at 2 p.m. in front of Smith Hall.
Troy Kids Zone
The Troy Kids Zone opens at 1 p.m. and is located in the outfield of Riddle-Pace Field; this week's Kids Zone will be expanded in conjunction with the Extra Yard for Teachers Tailgate Party. Children of all ages are invited to take part in the fun with free inflatables until 4:30 p.m.
Trojan Walk
Troy's traditional pre-game march into Veterans Memorial Stadium, Trojan Walk, will begin at the intersection of University Avenue and George Wallace Drive. The Trojans will walk through the brick portal into Tailgate Terrace before entering the stadium at Gate 1. Trojan Walk will begin at 3 p.m.
Troy Tailgate Concert Series Featuring POPulous
Performing from 2-4 p.m. in Tailgate Terrace will be POPulus, Troy University's popular music ensemble comprised of students in Music Industry Program. Artists of diverse and eclectic styles blend together with a concert production team in a unique musical environment honoring all genres of American popular music.
Troy Preview Day
Troy University looks forward to welcoming several prospective students as part of the annual Preview Day. To register for this event, please contact the Office of Admissions.
Parent and Family Weekend
Parents and families of currently enrolled Troy University students are invited to come enjoy a special pregame tailgate party, t-shirt and ticket to the game for just $20. Contact Chris Weil at cweil@troy.eduor 334-808-6747 for more details.
Student Appreciation Game
Troy University students will be celebrated throughout the game with special prizes and promotions dedicated just for them. Troy Athletics will provide Military Appreciation t-shirts to the first 500 students in the student section, free NOS Energy Drinks will be handed out in the third quarter and lucky students will win free Domino's Pizza in the fourth quarter.
Extra Yard for Teachers Game
Troy Athletics will provide tickets to the game. Teachers may request up to four (4) complimentary tickets by contacting Alex Watts at 334-670-3384 or awatts177036@troy.edu. All teachers in attendance will be recognized during the game both on the field and from the stands.
A special tailgate party will take place prior to the game in Tailgate Terrace from 2-4 p.m. with food and drinks available for teachers and their families while supplies last. The first 500 teachers to attend the tailgate will receive a free Troy T-shirt.
Leading up to the game, Troy Athletics will deliver school supplies to teachers at schools throughout Pike County including Troy Elementary, Covenant Christian, New Life Christian, Banks School, Pike Liberal Arts, Pike County Elementary, Goshen Elementary and Zion Chapel.

Studio host Doug Amos is joined by "Voice of the Trojans" Barry McKnight, game analyst Jerry Miller and sideline reporter Junior Louissaint on location outside the Barnes & Noble Troy Bookstore for the radio pregame show beginning at 3 p.m. to preview the game on the full Troy Sports Radio Network.
Cool Zones
Misting fans will be strategically located throughout the concourses of The Vet on gameday to provide cooling stations for guests looking to beat the heat.
Additionally, a Cooling Tent will be located in Tailgate Terrance by the stage for the Troy Tailgate Concert Series.
Traffic Information
George Wallace Drive will CLOSE two (2) hours prior to kickoff until one (1) hour after the completion of the game from International Blvd. (traffic light at Charles Henderson High School) to Johnny Long Drive.
- Fans with access to National Guard Armory Lot and North End Zone Lot will be granted access to those lots within the two-hour closure with the proper parking pass. ALL traffic to those lots MUST enter from the north end of George Wallace Drive – from Downtown/Elm Street not Highway 231.
