Men's Tennis Gets Regional Recognition

Troy, Ala. - Troy Men's Tennis was ranked 9^thin the Southern Region, Division I Ranking administered by the ITA. Sophomore Pelayo Antuna earned a place in the top twenty among the players from Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and LSU.

The Trojans earned 17 wins under the new head coach Rolando Vargas and reached Sun Belt Tournament Quarterfinals, while Pelayo Antuna and Oskar Michalek were named to All-Sun Belt Conference Awards.

Pelayo Antuna has posted 20-4 overall record, including a 3-1 mark in Sun Belt Conference play. The sophomore from Gijón, Spain, was 11-2 at first singles and ended the regular season on a five-match winning streak before heading into the tournament play.
