TROY, Alabama – Troy's opponents are set for the 2020 football season with the addition of Tennessee and Arkansas-Pine Bluff to the non-conference slate, Interim Director of Athletics Sandy Atkins announced Thursday.
The Trojans open the season with three straight non-conference games – Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Sept. 5), at UMass (Sept. 12) and NC State (Sept. 19). The season opener against UAPB will be the first meeting between the two schools while the games against UMass and NC State are the conclusion of home-and-home contracts.
Troy's visit to Tennessee is set for Nov. 21 at Neyland Stadium in the first meeting between the two schools since a 55-48 shootout in 2012 that featured a combined 1,439 yards of total offense. The Trojans held a 48-41 lead with 3:14 remaining in the game before the Vols scored 14 points over an 89-second stretch to win the game.
The Sun Belt has announced conference opponents for the 2020 season with game dates to follow in the spring. Troy will host Georgia State, Coastal Carolina, ULM and Texas State and will travel to Georgia Southern, Appalachian State, South Alabama and Arkansas State.
Fans can still purchase their season tickets for the upcoming 2019 home season which features games against South Alabama, Southern Miss, Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, Arkansas State and Campbell. Tickets start as low as $60 and can be purchased by visiting TroyTrojans.com/tickets.
