Kickoff Time Set for “Battle for the Belt”

TROY, Alabama – Troy's annual rivalry contest against South Alabama will kick off at 7 p.m., the Sun Belt Conference and ESPN announced Thursday. The "Battle for the Belt" is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16, in The Vet and the game will be televised live on ESPN2.
Troy won last year's installment of the rivalry, 38-17, in Ladd-Peebles Stadium, and the Trojans will be looking to break a run of four straight victories by the visiting team when the Jaguars visit Troy in October. Troy leads the all-time series with South Alabama by a 4-3 margin, and the Trojans hold both the largest margin of victory – last year's 21-point win – and the smallest – a 1-point victory in 2013 – in the series.
Additionally, the league announced Thursday that the Sun Belt Conference Championship Game will kick off at 11 a.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2. The game will be held on campus at the top division winner.
With a time set for the "Battle for the Belt", game times have been announced for all six of Troy's 2019 home games. Troy's games against Campbell (Aug. 31), Southern Miss (Sept. 14), Arkansas State (Sept. 28) and App State (Nov. 29) will kick off at 5 p.m. and Troy's Homecoming tilt against Georgia Southern (Nov. 9) is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
The priority renewal deadline for Troy football season tickets is fast approaching with fans having until Monday, June 3, to renew or purchase their season tickets for the 2019 Troy football season. Fans can call 877-878-WINS or visit TroyTrojans.com/tickets to purchase or renew their tickets for the 2019 season.
