No. 6 Troy Suffers Heartbreaking Loss to No. 2 Georgia Southern

Conway, S.C. – No. 6 Troy was unable to muster any runs and dropped a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to No. 2 Georgia Southern in the Sun Belt Conference baseball semifinal game on Saturday morning at Springs Brooks Stadium.
The Trojans finish the year with a 31-29 overall record.
The sole run of the game came in the bottom half of the fourth when a ball hit into the 5.5 hole was grabbed by a sliding Drew Frederic, but the throw bounced away from Sadler Goodwin at first allowing the runner on second to score.
Troy's biggest threat to slide across a run was in the seventh inning when the Trojans loaded the bases with two outs but the Eagles (35-23) were able to get a strikeout to end the frame.
Bay Witcher suffered the loss (0-2) despite not allowing an earned run, finishing the game with 4.1 innings pitched giving up three hits with four strikeouts. Rush Hixon came into the game and posted a stellar 3.2 innings by not giving up any runs and only allowing two hits with one strikeout.
At the plate, Manning Early had a 2-for-3 outing while Logan Cerny also tallied two hits in the contest. Rigsby Mosley tallied a double and drew two walks.
