Troy Football Adds Three to Signing Class

TROY, Alabama – Troy added to its record-breaking signing class with the addition of three players who recently signed scholarship agreements with the Trojans, head coach Chip Lindsey announced Friday.

Troy focused on adding depth to the defensive side of the football with the latest additions as the Trojans signed cornerback Monte' McGary from Iowa Western, defensive tackle Elgin Griffin from Eastern Arizona and defensive tackle Malik Pertee from Vanguard (Fla.) High School.

"Our fans have come to expect championship-level defense, and these three guys are going to ensure that legacy continues," Lindsey said. "In addition to being outstanding football players, Monte', Elgin and Malik are all great young men, and we expect them all to make immediate impacts on our program. We are looking forward to having them on campus this fall."

Troy's signing class is the top-ranked in the Sun Belt by average ranking and this marks the third straight year Troy has climbed the national rankings with its recruiting class. As it stands, Troy's class ranks 20 spots higher nationally than last year's group which was rated the best in school history.
