Troy Players Impress on Pro Day

TROY, Alabama – Responsible for the best three-year period in school history, nine outgoing Trojan seniors hit the turf in Veterans Memorial Stadium one final time for Troy's annual Pro Day on Monday.Â

Featuring Blace Brown, Deontae Crumitie, Sidney Davis, Deondre Douglas, Gabe Hill, Hunter Reese, Cedarius Rookard, Trevon Sanders and Damion Willis, the event drew the attention of 20 NFL scouts and one CFL scout.

Coming off an appearance at the NFL Combine, Brown improved his times in both the 40-yard dash and the three cone drill. Brown posted a 4.65 in his second 40 of the morning and turned in a time of 6.94 in the three cone drill. After not jumping at the Combine, Brown posted a 37.5-inch vertical at Troy's Pro Day.

Players were forced to shuffle their routine Monday due to a heavy rain that pounded the Troy area. Instead of jumping and lifting first, players were on the field for the two running drills before moving inside the North End Zone Facility weight room.

Willis turned some heads Monday checking in at 6-foot-3 and 204 pounds and then running a 4.48 40-yard dash and a 7.00 in the three cone. His 40 time would have ranked 16that the NFL Combine among receivers while his three cone would have been good for 10thbest.

Rookard also had a solid day with a 4.55 40-yard dash, 7.07 three cone and a 35.5 inch vertical. Douglas turned in the second-best 40 of the day with a 4.53 in addition to putting up 19 bench press reps, offensive lineman Deontae Crumitie put up the most bench press reps with 28, which would have ranked ninth at the Combine among offensive lineman, while defensive tackle Trevon Sanders put up 22 reps.
