The Trojans (11-15, 4-10 Sun Belt) are coming off a 68-52 loss to in-state rival South Alabama in Trojan Arena on Saturday. In the game, Senior Alex Hicks posted a double double in a season-high 21 points with 13 boards alongside two blocks.Â

Sophomore Javan Johnson added 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting from behind the arc with three rebounds and a block. Johnson has scored in double figures in seven of his last eight games.

On the season, Troy currently sits second in the Sun Belt Conference in blocks per game averaging 4.6 and is fourth in the conference shooting 46.1 percent (687-1490) from the field.

Hicks paces the team in points per game (12.5) on 53.1 percent (128-241) shooting and in rebounds per game (7.9) which is the fifth-most in conference. Hicks is pulling down 8.4 rebounds per game in conference play, fourth-highest in conference.

Texas State slipped past Louisiana in a 64-62 win in Strahan Arena on Saturday. Texas State improved to 22-6 on the season and 11-4 in Sun Belt action.Â

In the game, senior Tre Nottingham racked up a team-high 17 points with five rebounds, an assist and a steal. Juniors Eric Terry and Nijal Pearson both added 13 points.Â

Pearson leads the team averaging 17.9 points per game, eighth-most in conference while shooting 40.7 percent (74-182) from behind the arc, third-highest in Sun Belt. Junior Jaylen Shead leads the team in assists per game (4.9) third in conference.
