TROY, Alabama - Troy suffered its first loss of the season against Sun Belt opponent in the final of HEB Invitational, 4-1. The tournament that was held in Corpus Christi, Texas by Islanders was successful for the Trojans as they were able to knock down New Mexico State and Tennessee Tech in two dual matches.
The Trojans collected one double win at the start of the dual match. Pelayo Antuna and Jiaqi Duan defeated Jan Galka and Dworak Kacper, 7-5. However, Luis Foix and Christopher Tasker fell short at No.1 doubles spot, while Manuel Bernard and Oskar Michalek were outplayed by Elio Lago and Jamie Fraser, 7-5.
There was only one win in the singles play, as No.1 seed Pelayo Antuna defeated Jan Galka in two sets, 6-3, 6-2. Manuel Bernard was close to secure the win but fell short against Arthur Libaud, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1. Jiaqi Duan and Antonio Selma lost in two sets. Duan was defeated by Jamie Fraser, 6-2, 7-5. Selma was close in the second set but lost to Kacper Dworak, 6-2, 7-5.
