Trojans Have Mixed Results on Final Day of Samford Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.,- Trojans have mixed results on final day of the Samford Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama, which included a win in doubles against Tennessee-Martin and loss in singles to Samford.
In doubles play, Troy faced off against Tennessee-Martin, where Troy recorded a 3-0 record in the three matchups. The doubles pair of Pei Ju Hsieh and Chunxi Guo defeated Daphne Pratt and Amelia Campbell 6-1 on Court 1. On Court 2, Shevita Aulana and Anastasiia Khrustaleva defeated Mizuki Sakurai and Jule Strief 6-3. On Court 5, Anastasiia Khokhlova and Tijana Svitlica defeated Aziza Aubin and Sina Niedzialowski 6-2. Both pairs of Guo/Hsieh and Khoklova/Svitlica posted perfect records of 3-0 over the weekend.
In singles play, Troy faced off against Samford, where Troy posted a 2-5 record in the seven matchups. On Court 2, Junior Pei Ju Hsieh defeated Grace Jennings 6-1, 6-4. On Court 4, sophomore Chunxi Guo defeated Natalia De Ugarte 6-4, 6-1. On Court 1, Rouxanne Janse van Rensburg defeated Matea Mihaljevic 6-3, 6-3. Elsa Pool defeated Anastasiia Khrustaleva 6-2, 7-5 on Court 3. Cindy Oest defeated Shevita Aulana 7-6. 7-5. India Ampaw defeated Anastasiia Khokhlova 6-2, 6-1. On Court 6, Tijana Svitlica suffered a loss to Holly Horsfall in a hard-fought match 4-6. 6-2, (10-8).
