Â
TROY, Ala. – Intensity was the name of the game Tuesday as Troy strapped on full pads for the first time of fall camp. The Trojans spent two hours on the grass practice fields behind Trojan Arena in a big step forward towards their season opener against No. 22 Boise State on Sept. 1 in The Vet.
Â
The Trojans powered through 21 periods in the morning heat with the bulk of the work spent in offense versus defense situations. Tuesday's main install featured third down, which Troy's defense led the country in last season, overtime and two-point conversions.
Â
Tomorrow the Trojans will turn their attention to the community as Brown has a scheduled day away from the practice field following Tuesday's hardest workout of camp. The team will break up into smaller groups and visit local nursing homes, schools and community centers to volunteer their efforts around the Troy area.
Â
Notable
Serveral Trojans will have new jersey numbers when Troy takes the field in the opener against Boise State. Linebacker Tron Folsom moved from No. 29 to No. 2, safety Cedarius Rookard swapped his No. 24 for No. 5 and cornerback Orlando Lacey transitioned from No. 37 to No. 29.Â
Â
Single-game tickets for Troy's six home games went on sale last week and fans can still purchase season tickets starting as low as $60 for the year. Fans wishing to sit in the new North End Zone Club must hurry to secure their spots as seats are limited and fast.
Â

Opening Statement …Â
"We were not as good as we needed to be from an energy standpoint, we've got to pick it up. It is day five in camp and it is not okay to lackidaisacle. We've got to have better energy on both sides of the ball. We had Competition Tuesday and defense won. It came down to an overtime period and a two-point conversion, and the defense had negative plays and that's what it comes down to in overtime. We had good competition. I like this football team and I like where we are at.
