Â
TROY, Ala. – Troy's annual Fan Day will have a few new additions this year when the event descends on Trojan Arena later this month. Set for Saturday, Aug. 18, from 1-3 p.m., Fan Day allows fans to engage with Troy student-athletes and coaches plus have an opportunity to snag some goodies and see The Vet like never before.
Â
Featuring the Troy football, volleyball, soccer, cross country and cheer teams, Fan Day provides Trojan Nation an opportunity to mix and mingle with their favorite Trojan student-athletes and coaches plus grab free lunch thanks to the Trojan Warrior Fund. The latest schedule posters will be available for fans to grab autographs from their favorite Trojans and T-Roy.
Â
Additionally, the latest Troy gear will be available for fans to stock up for the upcoming season, and the ticket office will be open for fans still needing to purchase their season or single-game tickets.
Â
New to 2018 Fan DayÂ
• The first 200 fans through the doors of Trojan Arena for Fan Day will receive a limited-edition copy of "Year of the Trojans" which chronicles the 2017 Sun Belt championship season.
Â
• Fans who purchased or renewed their seasons tickets prior to April 27 can pick up their replica Sun Belt championship ring. Ring pickup will be located inside the Trojan Arena suite area located on the West side of the arena. Fans who are unable to pick up their rings during Fan Day may do so at the Troy Ticket Office during normal business hours beginning August 20.
Â
• The North End Zone Club will open from 2:30 until 4 p.m. for fans to purchase one of the few remaining premium seats in the newest addition to The Vet. Troy Athletics staff members will be on hand to discuss seating options for fans interested in becoming part of history as initial ticket holders in the North End Zone Club. The North End Zone Club can be accessed via Gate 7 (Northwest corner) of The Vet for this event.
Â
The annual Football Kickoff Party takes over Trojan Arena that evening beginning at 6 p.m. with heavy hors d'oeuvres, complementary beverages and a $10,000 grand prize. For more information or to register, call 334-670-3682 or email jmorgan@troy.edu.
Â
Troy returns nine of 13 starters on offense and five starters on defense from last year's 11-win Sun Belt and New Orleans Bowl championship team. The Trojans led the league with 11 Preseason All-Sun Belt selections, including seven on the defensive side of the football – four of Troy's five returning starters on defense were named to the preseason first team.
Â
The Trojans carry the nation's fourth-longest winning streak into the opener against Boise State with seven-straight victories, including the record-setting performance in the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, Troy's third straight bowl victory.Â
