Joey Denison Named Perfect Game All-American

TROY, Alabama – Troy senior Joey Denison was named a Perfect Game All-American Second Team player, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.

The honor is Denison's most recent in a string of several postseason awards including the Sun Belt Player of the Year, All-Sun Belt First Team, Athens Regional All-Tournament Team and Collegiate Baseball All-American.

He led the conference in batting average, doubles, RBI and several other batting categories; while setting the school's single-season RBI record with 81 this season – which ranks second nationally. His 91 hits rank seventh in the country and are the fourth-most by any player in school history, while his .393 batting average finished the 10th-best nationally.

The Troy-native became program's first All-American since Reid Long was selected to the freshman team in 2015 and the first upperclassman since 2013. He and Rigsby Mosley are the first upperclassmen/freshman duo to earn All-American honors in the same season in school history.
