Weather Alters Schedule for Sun Belt Opener

TROY, Alabama- Due to inclement weather projected for this weekend, the schedule for the Troy softball series home against Georgia Southern has been altered. The matchup is now set to begin on Friday, with the doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m., and the series finale has been moved to Saturday at noon.

The ESPN3 broadcast for the series has been canceled, but the games will be streamed for free at Facebook.com/TroyAthletics.

The Trojans enter the weekend riding a five-game win streak after sweeping the D9 Citrus Classic in Orlando, earning wins against FIU, UCSB, Fordham, Niagara and Binghamton.

Annie Willis was the ace in the circle, throwing 15 strikeouts in 13.0 innings pitched, allowing only seven hits, and no runs. She leads the Sun Belt with 0.66 ERA.

At the plate, sophomores Logan Calhoun and Katie Webb have been on fire for the Trojans. The duo has posted a combined 40 hits, four home runs, and 22 RBI. Calhoun leads the team with .344 average and 18 runs.
