Troy Softball Inks Six Prep Standouts

TROY, Ala. – Troy softball head coach Beth Mullins announced Friday the signing of six prep standouts to join the Trojans beginning with the 2020 season.

"I am really excited about this class," Mullins said. "I think we have a lot of talent throughout. We will not only be solid on the mound and defensively but are bringing in some really talented hitters. We expect them to make an immediate impact when they step on campus next fall."

Long HS | Skipperville, Ala.) | Katelynn de Leon (Pembroke Pines Charter HS | Pembroke Pines, Fla.); Anslee Finch (Geneva HS | Geneva, Ala.); Mia Jenkins (Jasper County HS | Covington, Ga.); Meagan Patterson (St. Thomas Aquinas HS | Davie, Fla.); Jade Sinness (Sebring HS | Sebring, Fla.)

Libby Baker – 5-11 | P/IF | Skipperville, Ala. | G.W. Long High School
Named the 2018 Alabama 2A Player of the Year following her junior season at G.W. Long High School … Also named the 2A State Tournament MVP and to the 2018 South All-Star Team … Helped lead the Rebels to the 2018 state title and appearance in the 2017 title game … Hit .480 with 21 home runs, 59 RBIs, 11 doubles and struck out just 12 times in 151 plate appearances … In the circle, posted an 18-7 record with three saves, a 1.64 ERA and 178 strikeouts in 141 innings of work … Enters her senior season tied for ninth all-time in the state of Alabama with 50 career home runs, which is already a school record … Also played volleyball for the Rebels

Katelynn de Leon – 5-3 | C/IF | Pembroke Pines, Fla. | Pembroke Pines Charter HS
Helped lead Pembroke Pines Charter High School to the 2018 Florida 7A State Championship … Posted a .992 fielding percentage as a junior for the Jaguars … Also helped pace the Jaguars to three straight district championships and a pair of BCAA Big 8 titles

Anslee Finch – 5-11 | OF | Geneva, Ala. | Geneva HS
Named to the ASWA All-State Second Team as a junior last season at Geneva High School … Posted a .459 batting average with a .575 on-base percentage and a .801 slugging percentage … Recorded 11 doubles, 13 home runs, 52 RBIs and scored 63 runs … Also named to the all-tournament team at the state tournament and named to the Dothan Eagle Super 12 … Posted a .526 batting average (10-of-19) in the state tournament as she helped lead the Panthers to the state finals … Also plays basketball and volleyball; holds school record for kills in volleyball and scored 892 career points in basketball

Mia Jenkins – 5-7 | IF | Covington, Ga. | Jasper County HS
Named to the Georgia 8A All-State Team following her sophomore, junior and senior seasons … Earned the GADC 2017 Player of the Year and selected to play in the 2018 GADC All-Star Game … Four-time all-county selection … Set the Jasper County High School records in single-season home runs (10), career home runs (22), single-season doubles (10), career doubles (33), single-season RBIs (46), career RBIs (122), single-season batting average (.565) and career batting average (.443) … Hit at a .565 clip with 10 doubles, 10 home runs and 46 RBIs as a senior; also posted a 1.000 slugging percentage and .621 on-base percentage … Struck out just four times in 116 plate appearances … Hit eight home runs and drove in 23 runs in 13 playoff games as a junior and senior

Named to the Florida 8A All-State Second Team last season at St. Thomas Aquinas High School … Hit .471 with four home runs, 15 doubles and 33 RBIS as a junior to go along with an .805 slugging percentage … Named to the Sun Sentinel and Miami Herald All-County First Team as a junior … Earned all-county honors as a sophomore (second team) and as a freshman (honorable mention) … Enters senior season with 27 career doubles, 69 RBIs and six home runs … Helped lead the Raiders to a pair of state semifinal appearances and a trio of 20-win seasonsÂ

Enters her senior season with a .540 career batting to go along with 119 RBIs, 17 home runs, 115 runs scored and a .615 on-base percentage at Sebring High School … Three-time county player of the year and named the Highlands County Female Athlete of the Year as a junior … Three-time FACA all-state selection and all-academic selection … Holds the Sebring school records for career home runs and career RBIs and single-season home runs and single-season RBIs … Hit at a .457 clip with eight homers and 44 RBIs as a junior, .565 with three home runs and 45 RBIs as a sophomore and .598 with six home runs and 30 RBIs as a freshman … Also a four-time all-state selection in volleyball and the county volleyball player of the year as a junior
