Hayes, Anderson Earn Sun Belt Weekly Honors

TROY, Ala. – Troy volleyball's Cheyenne Hayes and Amara Anderson have been named the Sun Belt Offensive Player and Setter of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Hayes, a native of Newnan, Ga., recorded 37 kills and 27 digs in the two games this weekend – including a monstrous 22 kill and 17 dig double-double in Friday's win over the Cajuns. She is currently in the midst of a 17-game double-digit kill streak dating back to the opening weekend of the season.

Meanwhile, Troy's freshman phenom Anderson posted 93 assists on top of 40 digs of her own in the two matches. She recorded a career-high 23 digs with a solid 45 assists in Saturday's victory in Monroe – her 10th double-double of the season.

The two became the first Trojans to receive a Sun Belt honor since the 2015 season, when Darby Griff earned Defensive Player of the Week. Overall, they represent the 17th and 18th players of the week since the school joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2005.

Troy's longest conference road trip continues this weekend as the Trojans travel to face Georgia Southern and Georgia State Friday and Saturday.
