T-Roy’s Fall Festival, Student Promotions Highlight Gameday the Vet on Thursday

TROY, Ala. – Gameday at The Vet will truly be a festive occasion on Thursday before and during Troy's Sun Belt East Division showdown with Georgia State. T-Roy's Fall Festival, a pregame concert, numerous student promotions and a halftime fireworks show highlight the day's activities. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be televised live on ESPNU.
Fans are encouraged to visit TroyTrojans.com/Gameday prior to each visit to campus to see the latest information on parking, traffic flow and tickets for each of Troy's remaining four home games.
T-Roy's Fall Festival
The second annual T-Roy's Fall Festival kicks off at 3 p.m. in the outfield of Riddle-Pace Field. The home to the Troy baseball program will be transformed into an action-packed fun zone for children to enjoy.
Among the attractions will be a 40-foot obstacle course, inflatable basketball jam, quarterback challenge, inflatable sports challenge, giant Jenga and Connect 4 as well as several other tailgate games. A magician will also be on hand with a magic show that all children will be sure to enjoy.
Troy Student Giveaways
Troy University students are in for a treat Thursday night as the first 1,000 through the student gate will receive a free pair of Troy Athletics ear buds courtesy of Guardian Credit Union. Additionally, a replica 2017 Sun Belt Championship ring will be awarded to a Troy student at each timeout during the game and Troy Athletics will be awarding $1,000 in Adidas gift cards plus gift cards to local stores – the prizes will be awarded to the rowdiest students in the student section throughout the game.
Troy Athletics is making available 500 free student guest tickets on a first-come, first-serve basis at the ticket office in Trojan Arena. A valid student ID is required to claim the student guest tickets and there is a limit of two tickets per student.
Take a Kid to the Game for Free
All children aged 12 and under will receive a free general admission ticket in conjunction with the NCAA's Take a Kid to the Game campaign while all other fans can take advantage of a $10 general admission ticket.Parents can pick up the complimentary ticket at the Riddle-Pace Field ticket booth – children are required to be present with the adult to claim the ticket.
Horn Beverage Bud Light Tailgate Concert Series
Ella Langley, an Americana/alt-country artist from Hope Hull, Ala., will take the stage in Tailgate Terrace for the Horn Beverage Bud Light Concert Series beginning at 5 p.m.
Halftime Fireworks
Once the game gets underway, the fun continues as fans will be treated to a halftime fireworks show during the Sound of the South's performance.
Breast Cancer Awareness
Troy will honor breast cancer awareness during the game with pink kicking nets on the sideline and pink additions to the Trojans' uniforms. Also, the Guardians of the Ribbon will be on hand with pink firetrucks along Tailgate Terrace. Fans may sign these firetrucks in honor or in memory of loved ones who have been impacted by breast cancer.
Trojan Talk
Troy's weekly radio show with head football coach Neal Brown and "Voice of the Trojans" Barry McKnight airs live Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. on the Troy Sports Radio Network. Fans in Troy can catch the show live at Santa Fe Cattle Company and enjoy half-priced appetizers and drink specials.
Trojan Walk
Troy's traditional pre-game march into Veterans Memorial Stadium, Trojan Walk, will begin at the intersection of University Avenue and George Wallace Drive. The Trojans will walk through the brick portal into Tailgate Terrace before entering the stadium at Gate 1. Trojan Walk will begin at 4:15 p.m. for the Georgia State game.
Troy Sports Radio Network Pregame Show
"Voice of the Trojans" Barry McKnight, game analyst Jerry Miller and sideline reporter Chris Blackshear will be on the air beginning at 4:30 p.m. to preview the game on the full Troy Sports Radio Network.
Tailgating with the Trojans
Troy's "Tailgating with the Trojans" show is back for a second season. Hosted by Troy University graduate Melanie Newman. The show will be released following every home game via Troy's social media accounts and will highlight all of the great tailgating that takes place during Troy football games.
Student Promotions
The first 1,000 Troy University students inside The Vet on Saturday will receive a free Troy Athletics ear buds courtesy of Guardian Credit Union.
In-Game Host
Troy University graduate Melanie Newman will serve as the in-game host. Newman currently serves as a radio broadcaster for the Texas Rangers AA affiliate and has experience working with Major League Baseball, the Arizona Fall League, the Mobile BayBears and the ACC Network.
