Troy Softball Welcomes South Alabama on Senior Day

TROY, Alabama- The Troy softball team will compete in its final games of the regular season on Sunday, May 7, against in-state rival South Alabama. Rachel Rigney Brown, Becca Hartley, Jordan Gray, and Meg Willis will all be honored for Senior Day. Game one for the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m.

Troy (20-32, 8-17 SBC) is coming off a series loss against the Texas State Bobcats. The Bobcats took game one 12-0 in five innings, but the Trojans fought back and narrowly fell 4-3 in game two. Texas State claimed the sweep with a 3-0 win on Sunday.

Hartley remains the team leader in every major offensive category for the Trojans. Her 16 home runs this season ties her for the third place spot in the Troy record books, while her 39 career home runs gives her solo possession of the third place all-time record. Hartley was recently named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 team for her performance on the field and in the classroom.

South Alabama (38-18, 13-12 SBC) is coming off of a series sweep against Georgia Southern. Kaleigh Todd leads the Jags at the plate with a .388 average and junior pitcher Devin Brown has been dominant in the circle with a 1.57 ERA and 170 strikeouts this season.

• The Trojans look to snap a six game losing streak against the Jaguars.
• Troy leads the conference in doubles with 65. Snyder and Hartley have a team-high 11, while 10 other Trojans have posted a double this season
• Hartley is 14th in the country with 118 total bases, and is sixth in the conference and 41st nationally with a .742 slugging percentage.
• Maddie Porter is 43rd in the country and leads the Sun Belt in hit by pitches with 14 on the year.
• Hartley, Porter and Stephanie Snyder are the only three Trojans to start in every game this season.
• Senior Jordan Gray looks to finish the season with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. She is the only outfielder to have the perfect percentage.
