Trojans to Host Appalachian State

TROY, Alabama – The Troy softball team is set to host Appalachian State for a weekend league series. A doubleheader on Saturday will begin at 1 p.m. and Sunday's finale is set for noon at the Troy Softball Complex.

Troy (17-29, 5-14 SBC) is coming off two midweek losses against No. 2 Florida State. Troy fell 9-3 in game one, but held the Seminoles to just two runs in game two. Becca Hartley and Stephanie Snyder each hit their 10th double of the season, and Claire Graves threw a complete game, only allowing two earned runs and tossing two strikeouts.

Hartley leads the team in batting average (.350), slugging percentage (.771), on-base percentage (.471), runs (39), hits (49), RBIs (39), doubles (10), triples (2), and home runs (15).

Appalachian State (12-27, 0-15 SBC) travels to Troy after a series loss against Georgia Southern. Natalie Orcutt leads the Mountaineers with a .330 average at the plate, with 36 hits and 23 runs on the year.

In the circle for Appalachian State, Kenzi Longanecker has a 2.28 ERA in 27 appearances. She has thrown 103 strikeouts in 119.2 innings pitched.

 • Troy leads the conference in doubles with 57. Stephanie Snyder and Becca Hartley have a team-high 10, while nine other Trojans have posted a double this season.

A moment of silence will be held prior to the National Anthem performed by Shelia Jackson and then a First Pitch from LTC Carlos Garcia, Commanding Officer for the Air Force ROTC Detachment here at Troy.

The East Brewton Youth Softball League will be in attendance on Saturday and is invited to come down to visit with our team between games.
