Troy Pulls Out 4-3 Win Over Jacksonville State

JACKSONVILLE, Alabama – The Troy men's tennis team capped off a successful road weekend with a narrow 4-3 win against Jacksonville State on Sunday afternoon.

All but two of the singles matches went to three sets as Troy (4-6) won four of the six contests. The seniors Andy Lau and Pablo Moreno were the only ones who won in two sets as Lau defeated Paolo Cucalon 6-2, 6-2 and Moreno defeated Felix Morck 6-3, 6-4.

The other singles winners on the afternoon were Mustapha Belcora, who won his matchup against Guillermo Agost 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 and Amer Bedwan, who came away with a 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 win over Andres Gomez.

The singles wins were crucial as the Trojans did not win any doubles matches over Jacksonville State (6-4). Andre Baldo and Hassan Ndayishimiye fell 6-3, Filip Mansson and Austine Racine lost 6-2 and Lau and Moreno did not finish their match.

NOTEWORTHY
• The win marks the second win in a row after Troy defeated UT-Chattanooga 4-0 on Friday.

• Amer Bedwan has yet to lose a singles dual match as the freshman moved to 7-0 to start the season.
