Women’s Golf Finishes Ninth at 3M Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, Georgia – The Troy women's golf team climbed the leaderboard during Saturday's final two rounds of the 3M Augusta Invitational to finish ninth in a field that included 11 teams ranked in the top 100. Teams played 36 holes on Saturday due to the threat of rain in the Augusta area on Sunday.
Fátima Fernández Cano led the Trojans as she tied for 15th place overall after shooting a 4-over 220 for the tournament. Cano shot a 2-under 70 in Saturday's opening round before carding a 3-over 75 in the final round of the event.
Bianca Lohbauer and Gabi Oubre' tied for 40th place after each shooting a 142 over the two rounds on Saturday. Lohbauer shot 76 in all three of her rounds at the Augusta Invitational, while Oubre' carded a 75 and 77 on Saturday.
Becca Horner rebounded with two solid rounds for the Trojans as she carded a 5-over 77 and a 3-over 75 to move into a tie for 56th place overall, while Lindsey Harrison fired her first collegiate round under par with a 1-under 71 in the final round to tie for 61st place. Competiting as individuals, Kalyn Hudson tied for 61st place after a final round 75 and Bria Jansen placed 86th.
Host Augusta won the team title by 10 shots over Coastal Carolina, while Furman finished 14 shots back in third place. The Trojans clipped Virginia Tech by one shot and finished just five shots back of No. 21 Texas A&M.
The Trojans are back in action March 28-30 at the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate hosted by Kennesaw State.
