Trojans Introduce 2014-15 Cheerleading Squads

TROY, Ala. – Troy University cheerleading and head coach Tiffany Chandler announced the 2014-15 cheerleading squads Thursday, after tryouts commenced just over one week ago.
"We saw a tremendous turnout for tryouts this year and I'm really happy with the squads that we put together," Chandler said. "This group of 32 takes great pride in representing Troy University on campus and in the community and, after such an incredible season last year, I am really excited to see what this team can accomplish."
More than 50 Troy students took part in tryouts, which consisted of cheers, chants, dancing, tumbling and stunting in front of a panel of judges. The co-ed team consists of 13, while the all-girl squad is made up of 16 women and three mascots.
Last season the Trojans saw tremendous success on the national scene, placing fifth at the UCA College Cheerleading Nationals in the Division I Small Coed division.
