Ten Troy Softball Players Named 2013-14 NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes

TROY, Alabama- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association named ten Troy softball student-athletes 2013-14 NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes.

Previous Trojans, Taylor Smartt and Kacie McCallister  who graduated in May 2014 with degrees in Sport and Fitness Management, both made the list. Smartt, now a volunteer on the coaching staff, earned a 3.89 GPA and a cumulative GPA of 3.67. McCallister received a 3.71 GPA in 2013-14, and a cumulative GPA of 3.38.

Senior Chelsea Eytel and Jaycee Affelft, who both are majoring in broadcast journalism, had a team-high 4.0 GPA throughout the 2013-14 school year, with cumulative GPA's of 3.58 and 3.89, respectively.

Two juniors, Leanna Smith, a criminal justice major, and Leah Brundidge, sport and fitness management, added to the mix with GPA's of 3.91 and 3.63 in 2013-14.

Four sophomores rounded out the group: Allison Moore, a biology/biomedical major with a 4.0 GPA, Becca Hartley, an accounting major with a 3.8 GPA, Meg Willis with 3.76 GPA in nursing and lastly MacKenzie Kayler with a 3.65 GPA in marketing.
