Mullahey Acknowledged by Allstate NABC Good Works Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Troy men's basketball senior guard Jeff Mullahey has been nominated for the 2014 Allstate NABC Good Works Team, as announced on Tuesday morning.
Mullahey was nominated based on his contributions to the Troy community, as well as the community in his hometown of Pace, Fla. He is an active member of "Breakout", the Troy University campus outreach ministry. Mullahey has also helped his fellow students and the community by aiding in the University tutoring program and participating in reading events at local elementary schools.
The Allstate NABC Good Works Team recognizes college basketball student-athletes that have made significant contributions to the greater good of their communities through volunteerism and civic service. The final team, comprised of five Division I and five other men's college basketball players, will be announced in February.
Members of the Allstate NABC Good Works Team will be invited by Allstate to the 2014 NABC Convention and 2014 NCAA Men's Final Four in Dallas, where they will participate in a community project in the city.
Mullahey has enjoyed a breakout year on the court for the Trojans as well. After performing as a role player for most of last season, Mullahey has stepped into a starting position and thrived. He's doubled his scoring output and increased his rebounding and assist average as well. Mullahey also leads the Sun Belt Conference in free throw percentage.
As a team, the Trojans are 3-3 on the season after beating Alcorn State at home on Monday night in double overtime. Troy plays one final game at home, against Alabama State at 1 p.m., on December 7, before hitting the road for four games prior to the Christmas break.
