TROY, Ala. – Last Saturday, the Troy softball team and coaching staff completed a one-day camp for children ages seven to 13 years old in Dothan.
All of the proceeds to the camp went to fund scholarships for the Troy University Wiregrass Alumni Association to benefit local high school students.
The Trojans hosted the clinic at Dothan's Westgate Complex for children ages six to 13 years old. Head coach Melanie Davis, the Troy coaching staff and players spent the entire day teaching the young players fundamentals of the game of softball.
The camp was broken into a morning and afternoon session with ver 100 campers attending to learn the basics of hitting, fielding, throwing and base running from the Trojans.
The Troy softball team continues with practice this week and faces Central Alabama Community College on Wednesday, October 10, at 5:00 p.m. in the Trojans' fourth game of the fall slate. Admission to all Troy softball games is free.
