Trojans Make Appearance in NFCA Poll

TROY jumps in at 36 in the latest NFCA Coaches Poll

STARKVILLE, Miss. – For the first time this season, the Troy University softball program has jumped into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association rankings, making an appearance at 33; as they are tied with Kansas, Northwestern and USC Upstate.
Troy (17-9) is coming off of a week in which they played two teams ranked in the same poll – California (10) and Fresno State (26), losing to each by just a single run while allowing just four hits in the two contests.
So far this season, the Trojans have played third-ranked Alabama, California, 23rd-ranked Auburn, Fresno State and Kansas that appear in the rankings. They are just one of two schools from the Sun Belt Conference to appear in the rankings, as the other is Louisiana-Lafayette at 19.
The Trojans hit the field again this weekend, as they open up conference play by hosting ULM in a three-game Sun Belt Conference series beginning Saturday at the Trojans Softball Complex.
