Trojans Fall at Home to WKU

Troy will look to rebound next weekend in the last two home matches of the regular season

TROY, Ala. – The Troy University volleyball team dropped it's third straight match at home, falling to Western Kentucky in straight sets at Sartain Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Troy (15-13, 5-9) will finish out the regular season with two home matches against Florida Atlantic and FIU, next Friday and Saturday night. The Trojan will return to the floor against Florida Atlantic on Friday at 5:00 p.m. and finish out the regular season against FIU at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night.

WKU 3, TROY 0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-18)
The Trojans struggled against the Lady Toppers, as Western Kentucky hit .339 as a team for the match. Troy would hit .108 for the match with 26 kills and 15 errors.
Breanna Cullity led the Trojans with 11 kills, while Kayla Pickart added 5 kills on the afternoon. Alexandra Alexander recorded with 20 assists, while Courtney Cohen moved one step closer to the single-season record in digs with 16.
In the first set, Troy and WKU were tied at 14-14, but the Trojans fell victim to a 11-4 run from the Lady Toppers to close the set out.
The second set belonged to WKU, as the Lady Toppers hit. 432 in the set with 18 kills and only two errors, to take the second set 25-17.
In the third and final set, Troy would knotch seven kills and just two errors, but could not overcome Western Kentucky's 20 kills in the set, and fell 25-17.
