Troy trimmed the lead to two early, but a 21-9 ULM run opened the game up

TROY, Ala. – The Troy University women fell to the Warhawks of ULM 65-48 at Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Sun Belt Conference action Saturday afternoon.

ULM (12-10, 6-3 Sun Belt) was able to put the game away in the second half, as they opened the final 20 minutes of play with a 21-9 run to push the lead to 52-24 with just over 10 minutes to play in the contest.

Senior Donette McNair (New London, Conn./New London HS) became just the second member of the 1,000 point-700 rebound club as she recorded three rebounds in the opening half. She joins former Trojan Mandee Armstrong as the only two players to achieve the feat in the Division I-era (since 1993).

Sophomore Sophie Kleeman (Newcastle, Australia/Newcastle HS) led the Trojans with a season-high 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor. McNair adds 16 points and seven rebounds in the loss for Troy (5-17, 2-7 Sun Belt).

Larrie Williams led ULM with 16 points, while Jordan Rawson scored a career-high 11 points for the Warhawks – the first time in double figures for the first time in 104 games.

Troy shot just 32.7 (18-for-55) percent from the floor and 16.7 (2-for-12) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 66.7 (10-for-15) percent from the free throw line. Meanwhile, ULM shot 45.3 (29-for-64) percent from the floor and 36.4 (4-for-11) percent from beyond the arc.

The Trojans return to action Thursday night at Sartain Hall against FIU – a winner over Middle Tennessee on Saturday afternoon - in Sun Belt Conference action. The game tips at 5:15 p.m., and is part of a doubleheader with the men's program. The game can be heard on WTBF-94.7 FM, beginning with the pregame show at 5 pm.
