The doubles point is in limbo right now as the matches are just three games old, and just two games in the number three doubles. The number one team from Auburn is playing the 10th-best team in the country as they hold a 3-0 advantage over Grangeiro and Rolemberg. Meanwhile, on court two, the number two team for the Trojans - Weber and Masson - started off slowly but have started to show signs of life in the third game. After trailing 40-15 in the game, the team has stormed back and forced two dueces in game where they trail 2-0. On the third court, the team of Sahadi and Rouchdi are in a battle wher they trail 1-0 and are at advantage in the service game.
9:18 am (EST)
Almost simultaneously, the number two and number three teams win a game in their match. The team of Masson and Weber now trail 2-1, while the team of Sahadi and Rouchdi are tied at 1-all in their match. A nice crowd on hand to watch their Trojans in their first-ever NCAA Tournament match including the Chancellor of Troy University, Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. and his wife; the list also includes the family of newly-signed Thomas Cundy, Justin Kume (compliance coordinator) and family, Will Goggans (football player) and several former players (both men and women) of Troy University.
9:57 am (EST)
Number one doubles falls to Auburn 8-2, while number two and three are still on the court. After being down 5-2 at number three, the team has stormed back to tie the match at 5-all; while at number two the Trojans are staving off a chance for Auburn to win the point down 7-5. Auburn claims the doubles point with an 8-5 victory at number three. The number two score was 8-7 when the play was halted. There is a 10-minute break before the play of singles where the Trojans are going to need to win four of the six to win the match.
10:15 am (EST) - WRAP-UP OF DOUBLES PLAY
The 31st-ranked Auburn Tigers jumped ahead of the Trojans early in the doubles match and looked they would run away with the point, as they were blanking the Trojans in all three matches in the early stages.
However, with the exception being at number one, the Trojans fought back to even the matches and had chances to win.
After the 10th-ranked team Tim Puetz and Alex Stamchev defeated Troy's Luis Henrique Grangeiro and Mario Rolemberg 8-2; the battles heated up at number two and three.
At number two, the team of Branko Weber and Xavier Masson were one break away from being able to take a match from the Tigers. The two teams traded points, including breaking each other back-to-back to get the score to 8-7. However, that match was halted when the Trojans fell at number three.
The match at number three looked under control for Auburn, but the Trojans were able to come back from a 5-2 deficit to tie the match at 5-all. Unfortunately, Auburn won the last three games to claim the 8-5 victory and take the doubles point from the Trojans.
10:55 am (EST)
Trojans drop the opening set at number two (6-0), number three (6-1) and number six (6-1). They currently are tied at number five (2-all), down at one (4-3) and down at four (4-2).
