MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Troy University women's tennis team needed just one victory to claim a team victory over Middle Tennessee, but they also needed to fend off the Blue Raiders in the same match to keep from falling.

In singles play, the Trojans got victories at number one and number six to set up the heroics by Vieira at number four.
Grymel defeated Nava at number one in straight sets 6-3, 6-3; while Smith defeated Middle Tennessee's Taylor Coffey 7-5, 6-4 to even the overall match at 3-all.
After winning the opening set of her match, Vieira dropped the second set to force a winner take all third set in the match. The senior breezed through the third set by dropping just two games and winning 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 to clinch the victory for the Trojans.
