Trojans Rebound with Victory

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The 62nd-ranked Troy University men's tennis team rebounded from their loss to 30th-ranked Denver in their last match of the Sun Belt Shootout, blasting Florida A&M University 7-0 Saturday afternoon in non-conference tennis action.
Troy (17-4) now begins preparations for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament which is at the end of the month in New Orleans. In the meantime, the Trojans are looking to play reschedule a home match from earlier in the season to honor their lone senior, Guilherme Sahadi.
The Trojans jumped ahead early in the match when they won the doubles match after winning at number one and number two. The team of Luis Henrique Grangeiro and Mario Rolemberg won their match 8-4 at number one, while the team of Xavier Masson and Branko Weber rolled to victory at number two, 8-2.
Leading 1-0 in the overall match, the Trojans swept all six singles matches, with two of the matches going three sets. Both Aurelien Tave and Branko Weber dropped the first set in the match, but were able to rebound with victories in the second and third sets. Tave dropped the opening set 6-4, before storming back to win 6-2 in the second and 1-0 in a pro set in the third. Weber dropped the first set of his match 7-5, but came back to win 6-4 in the second and 1-0 in a pro set in the third.
In other singles action, Grangeiro claimed a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number one to lead the other four singles matches that were claimed in straight sets. Masson claimed a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number four, while Rolemberg won his match at number five 6-0, 6-2. The final match of the day was won by Sahadi in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
