BOCA RATON, Fla. - The 75th-ranked Troy University men's tennis team will wrap up their five-match road swing that covered two states this weekend with matches against Florida Atlantic University and Florida Gulf Coast University.
A pair of winning streaks will be on the line Friday when Troy (10-3) and Florida Atlantic (7-3) face off in Boca Raton, beginning at 2:00 pm EST. The Trojans have won five matches in a row, including a 4-1 victory over the University of Buffalo on the same courts Wednesday afternoon. Meanwhile, the Owls have won four matches in row, including a 7-0 victory over Southern Illinois on Wednesday afternoon.
Luis Henrique Grangeiro continues to lead the way for Troy this season, recording a 9-2 record at number one through 11 matches this season - with his only losses coming to nationally-ranked players from Auburn and Ole Miss. He has also teamed with Mario Rolemberg to record an 8-4 record. He has reeled off six consecutive singles victories this season, with his last match on Wednesday not completed due to the team match being decided.
The Trojans wrap up the road trip on Saturday on the road in Ft. Myers, as they take on Florida Gulf Coast (3-7) beginning at 1:00 pm EST. Florida Gulf Coast had their two match winning streak snapped by 72nd-ranked East Tennessee State Wednesday afternoon.
